  • Firecreek sits in Yancey County, near Burnsville, NC, in the mountains of western North Carolina, about an hour from Asheville.

  • Four options, each with its own character:

    • Maple Cabin — sleeps 8 across 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, with a cedar soaking hot tub, cast iron soaking tub, and steam shower.

    • Acorn Tiny House — sleeps 2 in a queen loft, with a Solo Stove fire pit and outdoor clawfoot soaking tub.

    • Dogwood Cabin — sleeps 9 across 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, with a wood-burning stove and private cedar hot tub. Book by messaging us directly.

    • Griz the Airstream — sleeps 2, currently reserved for retreat guests, friends, and family.

  • Yes. Maple, Dogwood, Acorn, and Griz together sleep up to 21 guests across four dwellings on the same land, ideal for reunions or milestone gatherings. Message us directly to arrange this.

  • Maple Cabin and Acorn Tiny House can be booked directly online through our booking platform. Dogwood, Griz, and full-property bookings go through a direct inquiry, since availability depends on retreat scheduling.

  • Standard cabin stays (Maple, Acorn, Dogwood)*:

    • Full refund if canceled 30+ days before check-in

    • 50% refund if canceled 14 days before check-in

    • No refund inside 7 days
      *Individual cabin rentals only, not whole compound. 

  • Depending on the dwelling: cedar and Japanese-style soaking tubs, a sauna, cold plunge, fire pits, high-speed wifi, a Sonos system, and access to the farm animals, greenhouse, and hiking trails. Zero-VOC building materials and organic textiles were used throughout the renovated cabins.

  • Firecreek shares its land with black bear, deer, turkey, and fox, along with a resident livestock guardian dog and farm animals guests can visit on request.

  • For retreats, arrival is strictly between 2 PM and 4 PM, since Firecreek can't accommodate guests on the property before 2 PM.

  • Yes, a two-night minimum applies.

  • No, pets aren't permitted. Firecreek is home to four dogs and multiple farm animals on the property.

Retreats

  • Guided retreats in yoga, meditation, movement, and creative practice, led by outside facilitators on our land. Past and upcoming retreats include Camp Retreat, Learning to Let BE, and Hold Nothing with author Elena Brower.

  • Lodging, meals, and the retreat program itself. Specifics vary by retreat, since each facilitator sets their own itinerary; details are listed on each retreat's page.

  • Through the individual retreat's page, where you'll find dates, pricing, and a direct booking link.

  • Arrival is strictly between 2 PM and 4 PM. If you're flying into Asheville ahead of that window, we can point you toward a couple of spots downtown for lunch, and we're happy to help coordinate a rental car or connect you with other arriving guests to share a ride out to the property.

  • Falconry and on-site massage are both available as add-ons. Falconry runs $125 to participate as a handler or $50 to observe. Massage is $90 for an hour or $120 for 90 minutes, paid directly to the therapist on-site. Let us know ahead of time if you'd like to book either, so we can schedule it.

  • Let us know as early as possible before your retreat. Our private chef plans the menu around each group's restrictions, preferences, and allergies, so the sooner we have this, the better.

  • Yes, all structures are shoe-free. Bring shoes that hold up to gravel paths, hiking, and the farm animals, but that are easy to slip on and off indoors, plus footwear for forest bathing, the sauna, and the cedar hot tubs. A bathing suit or two is worth packing as well.

Hosting a Retreat at Firecreek

  • Yes. Firecreek partners with facilitators who want to run their own programs on our land. You bring the curriculum and teaching; we handle the venue.

  • Your program, your facilitation, and your own audience or outreach.

  • Venue and lodging across up to four dwellings, booking and payment processing, marketing across our site, newsletter, and social channels, meals, on-site coordination, and a property orientation before your guests arrive.

  • Up to 20 guests across the property's dwellings and shared spaces.

  • Booking and payment run through Firecreek's own system, so you don't need to manage that separately.

  • Yes, alongside your own marketing, we promote hosted retreats through our website, newsletter, and social channels.

The Property
